Hawk Class were chosen to be the faces that launch the Bath Rotary Club firework poster competition. We had a special visit from the Rotary Club and the sponsors of this years display at the Rec, Bath Building Society.
The children were inspired to create some outstanding competition entries. Fingers crossed there’s a winner in the class. They were all winners in our eyes!
Thank you to all the parents that came to the teacher meeting session, it was lovely to meet you all. The children are really settling in well and we have had a great start to our year together. In English this week we continued to write about Flat Stanley and his various escapades in California. In Maths we are covering place value and ordering numbers.
This week we had a very special visitor: Rock Star Mrs Jones!
We learnt so much from Mrs Jones’s talk about all the different types of rocks and how they are formed. It was amazing. The rocks that she brought in were so fascinating it really brought our Science to life. Thank you so much .
If you have any special knowledge about the children’s topics please let us know. We love to learn with you. This term is Ancient Greeks and next term will be World War I.
The summer already seems like a lovely memory. We have been so busy in the last week and it has been fantastic to get to know all the new members of Hawk Class. I can tell we are going to have a fantastic year together. We have started our topic for this term – Ancient Greece and been reading our class book Flat Stanley. The children are settling in well to Key Stage 2 and coping amazingly with the new learning times. We have also made an excellent start to our Read Around Challenge.
On Monday there is the Parents meeting, where I hope to meet more of you and will be able to give you more information about our learning.
